HON. UNDIANDEYE CELEBRATES CHILDREN’S DAY, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO CHILD WELFARE AND INCLUSIVE DEVELOPMENT IN OBUDU

The Executive Chairman of Obudu Local Government Council, Hon. Dr. Peter Akonfe Undiandeye, KSM, has felicitated with children across Obudu Local Government Area on the occasion of the 2026 Children’s Day celebration, describing children as the pride of today and the hope of a greater tomorrow.

The Chairman, who was represented at the celebration by the Vice Chairman of Council, Hon. Rhoda Ashong, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every child can grow, learn, and achieve their full potential.

Addressing pupils, students, teachers, and parents during the celebration, Hon. Rhoda Ashong conveyed the Chairman’s goodwill message and emphasized that the future of every society rests on the quality of care, education, and opportunities given to children today.

According to the Chairman, “Children are not only the leaders of tomorrow, they are the strength and heartbeat of today. We must continue to invest in their dreams, nurture their talents, and protect their rights.”

Drawing from his Children’s Day address, the Chairman noted that every child deserves love, quality education, protection, and the opportunity to thrive irrespective of background or circumstance. He further urged parents, teachers, community leaders, and government institutions to work collectively in shaping a brighter future for the younger generation.

Hon. Undiandeye also encouraged children in Obudu to remain focused on their education, uphold good morals, and believe in themselves as future leaders who will contribute meaningfully to society.

The event was graced by the Leader of the Obudu Legislative Assembly, Hon. Eneji Sam Ashibi, alongside other councillors of the Legislative Council, the Secretary of Council, Mr. Emmanuel Aben, the Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), other council staff, political appointees, and stakeholders of the Local Government Council.

He assured that his administration would continue to prioritize policies and programmes that promote child welfare, education, healthcare, and youth development across the Local Government Area.
