The accident, which occurred on Saturday, May 3, involved a commercial vehicle reportedly conveying tourists from the Ranch. Eyewitnesses said the vehicle lost control due to brake failure while navigating a sharp bend at the foot of the hill, resulting in the devastating crash.

“This is a painful loss for all of us,” the Deputy Governor said solemnly. “We pray that God comforts the families of the deceased and grants them the strength to bear this irreparable loss.”
During his tour of the hospital wards, guided by medical personnel, the Deputy Governor spoke words of encouragement to the injured and assured them of the state government’s full support for their medical treatment and recovery.
“May you heal quickly and find strength in this difficult time,” he prayed, urging the victims not to lose hope.
Rt. Hon. Odey also commended the swift response of emergency personnel at the Ranch Resort, including the Nigerian Army stationed in the area, for their prompt efforts in assisting victims at the crash site.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to prioritizing the safety and well-being of citizens and visitors alike, and pledged continued collaboration with relevant agencies to enhance road safety, especially in tourism zones.
Accompanied by government officials and clergy, the Deputy Governor’s visit was not only a show of solidarity but a reflection of the state’s deep empathy for those affected.
