The Cross River State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has congratulated Engr. Ben Akak on his emergence as Deputy National Treasurer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing it as a well-deserved recognition of his loyalty, hard work, and commitment to the party.
Akak emerged into the position at the just concluded APC National Convention held in Abuja, a development the union said has brought pride to Cross River State.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Archibong Bassey, the NUJ noted that Akak’s emergence reflects his steadfast dedication to the ideals of the APC and the unity of both the state and the nation.
The council further described Akak as a reliable and consistent friend of the NUJ in Cross River State, noting that his relationship with the media has been marked by support, accessibility, and mutual respect over the years.
According to the union, Akak’s disposition as a loyal party man and a towering political figure has earned him widespread respect, with his views consistently aligning with pro–Cross River and pan-Nigerian interests.
“We are confident that you will bring your wealth of experience, integrity, and dedication to bear in this new role, contributing meaningfully to the growth and strengthening of the APC,” the statement read.
The NUJ expressed optimism that Akak would excel in his national assignment and continue to make both the party and Cross River State proud.
It also reaffirmed its support and goodwill, wishing him success as he takes on the new responsibility, while urging him to sustain his longstanding relationship with the media in the state.
The statement concluded with a renewed call for dedication to service, as the council once again extended its congratulations to the APC chieftain.
